Naturalist Linda Besio has been with us the longest, and has seen all the changes that have occurred with The Nature Center since June of 1998. Linda was born and raised in the North Country. She has a passion for science and learning, and enjoys sharing her love of nature with everyone.
Facility and Trails Manager Joel Danko is a Massena native who grew up attending the nature center’s day camps and programs. His love of nature led him to attain his BS degree in Biology and return to the area to work at the nature center and as a consultant on the St. Lawrence river. Joel loves anything to do with sports, fish, and being outdoors.
Naturalist Tanya Spicer began working at the center in 2013. She originally came to the Nature Center through the St. Lawrence County Arts Council in Potsdam. Tanya loves anything to do with art and nature! She is a star when it comes to promoting our programs and manages the social media accounts for The Nature Center. Tanya loves working with our youngest students and runs our pre-school age programming. When not at work, Tanya stays healthy with outdoor activities like snowshoeing, skiing and kayaking.
